How to DJ a College Party
If you’ve ever been to a college party, you know the importance of having a killer playlist! Your playlist can make or break your party.
If your song choice sucks, let’s just be honest, no one is going to want to come to any more of your parties. If your playlist is fire, you’ll be turning people away, because everyone will want to come.
Now that you’ve got the best college party songs, here’s 3 tips for how to DJ your college party.
- Do NOT play your best songs until everyone is at your party. This is probably about 2 hours into the party. Save these songs for the middle when everyone is the most hype.
- Play new songs in the beginning. This is because people may not know these songs yet, so they won’t get as much love and excitement as these best party songs.
- Play slower/ chill music when you want people to leave. The popular saying, “I don’t care where you go, you just gotta get the hell out of here” applies. Slow music will dampen the mood, letting them know that the party’s over and it’s time to go.
Don’t forget, when it comes to house parties, having a quality speaker is super important as who’s controlling the aux. You gotta have that base pumping to keep everyone moving!
To save money, look at renting a speaker setup at your local audio store or somewhere like Guitar Center. If you’re gonna be throwing multiple parties and can afford to buy a quality sound system, this speaker is top-rated and quite affordable for all that you get. If I was throwing a house party, it would definitely be on my list to consider buying.
